This beautiful Lino cut print, is a reminder of those lovely days at the end of Summer,
It has so much detail, and was a joy to carve, even if it took nearly a week! The design includes the last swallows, getting ready for their long journey to sunnier climes and hops, berries and acorns on oak tree leaves, all my favourites.
We have a lot of swallows up here on Wenlock Edge, it seems to be a 'meeting place' for a wider area too, one day the skies will be filled with them, the next they are gone. God speed little ones.
I produced this print with a prompt from the wonderful @songofseasons , the most amazing Instagram site, they will be giving away a framed copy of this for their September photography competition, what a great honour for me. The Limited edition print of just 100, is available in blue, green and black, all hand-printed on my beautiful Gunning press, using archival quality inks and beautiful quality Fabriano or Snowden paper. The printed area is 30cm x 21cm, the paper 38cm x 28cm. There may be variations of colour within the design, a joy of an individual handmade piece of art.
